LANCASTER TRAVEL PLAZA EMPLOYMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS

Rule Numbers and Description of Rules and Regulations are listed below. If you do not understand the Rules or Regulations you must provide an explanation below. If you answered NO for any response you must also provide an explanation below.
1.
Employees must wear uniforms at all times on premises. An Employee cannot start his/her shift or job without a uniform. Employees starting shift duties without a uniform will be subject to disciplinary action or termination at the discretion of Employer.
2.
Employees must pay for all personal use of merchandise, including but not limited to: products, supplies, re-prepared food, cooked food and/or cosmetics for personal consumption by Employees. Employees can save receipts to get a discount for all Employee purchases on a monthly basis, if they like.
3.
Employees cannot purchase merchandise from a friend or a family member, including but not limited to products, supplies, re-prepared food, cooked food and/or cosmetics for personal consumption by employees. Employees must have an unrelated cashier ring up the product they purchase.
4.
Any prepared food such as sandwiches, personal pizzas, mozzarella sticks, etc. should be made only as needed for Customers.
5.
Any leftover food that cannot be sold must not be taken or consumed by Employees on or off the premises without the Employer/owner’s express consent or approval.
6.
Employees must not tamper with any surveillance camera equipment, security systems or electric system, or thermostat etc. The surveillance camera system equipment and security systems are for security and protection for our Employees and Customers. Employees directly or indirectly involved in tampering with any surveillance camera equipment, security systems or electric system, thermostats etc. are subject to immediate termination in the discretion of Employer.
7.
Employees' shift start and end times will be calculated from log in and log out at the cash register system. Each Cashier Employee will be paid for 15 minutes of additional time that would require him or her to complete the reconciliation of cash receipts from the cash register system, including the PA lottery register and the shift report. Employees will be paid for time starting from the Employee’s log in to the end of his/her shift based on the shift report, with an additional 15 minutes added to reconcile the cash with shift report.
8.
Employees must complete and sign the shift duty at the end of each shift and the shift report will confirm Employees’ time worked on the shift for that day.
9.
All Employees must reconcile cash from cash registers and the PA lottery register with each shift report and make a note of any overage or shortage of cash/checks received from the cash register drawer during that shift. Employees are responsible to pay for any shortage above $5 per shift. Employees must provide a reason in writing for any shortage or overage. Reasons for shortages and overages must be described on the shift report. Employees with shortages on more than three shifts will be subject to disciplinary action or immediate termination in the discretion of the Employer.
10.
Any package received on the premises should be reported to the Employer/owner before the end of the Employee’s shift.
11.
Employees must not purchase any merchandise or equipment for store operations or consumption of any kind off-premises unless authorized by the Employer/owner.
12.
Keeping the premises clean and secure is responsibility of all Employees. Any unsanitary, unpleasant or dirty countertop, coffee/soda/dispensing machines, floor or merchandise shelves must be cleaned immediately after acknowledgement of the situation. All Employees must be vigilant and actively cleaning at all times during the shift when there are no Customers to attend to. Cashiers/Employees will not be standing behind cash register doing nothing.
13.
Employees will not leave opened boxes of merchandise on the floor of the storage area, store retail area, kitchen area or anywhere creating a hazardous and/or unsanitary or unsafe situation. Empty boxes must me flattened and stacked up. Flattened cardboard boxes must be placed in the recycle bin or in the appropriate waste system.
14.
Employees will not leave cleaning supplies, the cleaning mop, the mop bucket or any cleaning equipment on the retail floor or kitchen or anywhere else creating a potentially hazardous, non-presentable or unpleasant environment. Cleaning supplies, cleaning mops and mop buckets and any cleaning equipment must be stored in the storage area or cleaning supply storage area where it will not create a hazardous, non-presentable or unpleasant environment.
15.
All Employees will make sure that the storage door, janitorial supply closet and utility room doors and office doors are closed all times. Employees will notify Employer or Employer’s authorized person immediately if doors are found open.
16.
Each Employee will be assigned on their shift duty, some equipment and an area to clean and maintain for Customer satisfaction. These assigned responsibilities will be the Employee’s committed work during his or her shift and he/she must complete the work appropriately while waiting for Customers on his or her shift. If an Employee does not get to complete such shift duties, the Employee must immediately report this to a Supervisor/Manager and offer an explanation. The Manager will sign the Employee’s written explanation for unfinished work on the shift duty for confirmation of the uncompleted duties. The Manager will then assign any uncompleted work to the next shift Employee.
17.
All Employees will make sure that the storage door, janitorial supply closet and utility room doors and office doors are closed all times. Employees will notify Employer or Employer’s authorized person immediately if doors are found open.
18.
Employees working as Cashiers will not accept bills for more than $20 without proper verification. Each bill over $20 must be identified by Employees by listing the bill numbers from the large bills on the shift report. Employees accepting fraudulent bills without verification will be financially responsible for their bills. Protocol is for Employees to raise all large and $100 bills to the surveillance camera to properly identify both the bill and the customer providing the bill. This is to prevent fraud and to be able to identify fraudulent bill providers to a governmental agency. Employees ignoring this rule and accepting large bills without verification are subject to disciplinary action or termination in the discretion of Employer.
19.
Employees on shift duty must not purchase Lottery tickets for himself/herself. Employees on shift duty must not purchase instant Lottery tickets for himself/herself. Employees playing the lottery while on duty will be subject to immediate termination in the discretion of Employer.
20.
Employees will greet all Customers and treat them like a guest on the business premises. Employees must treat each Customer with the utmost respect and courtesy. Employees answering phones will also greet phone Customers with similar respect and courtesy. There is never any excuse for rude or arrogant behavior toward any Customer. If an Employee is challenged when handling a rude Customer, agree with the Customer then notify the Manager/Supervisor/Employer for further direction about how to satisfy the Customer.
21.
Employees will treat all Co-workers and all other Employees with utmost respect and courtesy. There is no excuse for rude or arrogant behavior toward any Employee. If an Employee is facing a challenge handling another Employee, the aggrieved Employee must notify the Manager/Supervisor/Employer for further direction about how to deal with the Co-worker/Employee.
22.
There is a Mystery Shopper Program implemented by Franchise/brand Company. Mystery Shoppers will be visiting the store from time to time and providing reports on a regular basis. They will measure the performance of Employees and Customer Service and the condition of the facility. Positive remarks will be a basis for rewards for the Employees on that shift duty. Negative remarks will subject the Employee to disciplinary action or immediate termination in the discretion of Employer.
23.
Employees must wash their hands before handling any food. Employees returning from the restroom or completing cleaning jobs must wash their hands before returning to work also.
24.
Employees will not purchase or sell personal items on the premises of the business at any time.
25.
All Employees are subject to substance abuse screening at any time of day, as requested by the Employer. Employees refusing to take such a test will be subject to immediate termination in the discretion of Employer.
26.
Employees may not use cell phones, business computers, the business network or any equipment for personal purposes during shift duty. Employees planning to use any equipment such as their cell phone, or any business equipment for personal purposes must seek prior permission and approval from Employer before such use.
27.
Employees cannot eat food while serving Customers. Employees must be off the cash register or on break to eat food.
28.
Employees must start their shift on time or few minutes before shift start time assigned to him/her. Employees arriving to work late or starting their shift late will be given three verbal or written warnings to correct and rectify the situation. After three warnings, the Employee will be terminated without any prior notice of termination.
29.
Employees on shift will be prepared to continue working for additional hours or additional time as required for the next shift Employees to arrive if there is an unusual or emergency situation requiring this.
30.
All Employees starting their job will be placed on a two-week probation period. During this time they may be terminated for any reason. Thereafter, successful Employees will be working for three months as a temporary employee. Even Employees on temporary employment can be terminated anytime without notice.
31.
If any Employee has to void any transaction for any reason, the Employee must save the receipt and must log the date, time, amount, items and reason for voided transactions. Employees voiding transactions would have to provide an explanation for all voided transactions. Voided transactions are subject to disciplinary actions or immediate termination in the discretion of Employer.
32.
The Employee agrees to agree to the terms of and sign off on any Employee handbook from Lancaster Travel Places LLC and franchise operations on premises. The Employee agrees to and will sign off on any changes or amendments made to these Rules and Regulations by Lancaster Travel Places LLC at any time, and agrees with them by continuing employment.
33.
Employees will use no cell phone for personal or business purpose for unless authorized in writing by Employer in advance. Employees will not use cell phone for text messaging for personal or business purpose unless authorized in writing by Employer in advance.
34.
Employees will use the front door main entrance to enter or exit the building at all times. Employees will not receive or remove any products or equipment from the kitchen exit unless specifically authorized by Employer. If any Employee enters or exits the building from the kitchen door without authorization by the Employer the Employee will be subject to disciplinary actions or termination in the discretion of Employer.
35.
Employees will read and sign any and all Employee hand books or Rules/Regulations required for them to perform their shift duties for either the Subway or Sunoco business activities. This may include making subs, pizzas, hoagies and sandwiches, picking up trash, marketing, purchasing, cleanup, reporting etc.
36.
Employees not discuss any meters related to salary being paid to other employee. Employee will not ask other employees about their salary. If any Employee asks salary to other employee, employee asking for salary will be subject to disciplinary actions or termination in the discretion of Employer.
37.
Employees agrees to pay $20 for uniforms set provided by Employer for each businesses. $20 for Sunoco uniform and $20 for Subway or any other Business requiring uniform. Amount or uniform cost will be deducted from employee’s first paycheck. Employees not willing to pay for uniform will be subject to termination at the discretion of Employer.

I have read this agreement carefully and understand it’s terms. I accept the obligations and the responsibilities therein and accept liability for any damages caused by any violation by me of these rules. No promises or representations have been made to me to induce me to sign this agreement. I sign this agreement voluntarily and freely. I understand the consequences of any violation of the rules outlined by lancaster travel plaza, llc as listed above. I also understand that verbal and/or written warnings could lead to discplinary action or termination of employment at the sole discretion of the employer at any time. The sunoco brand and employee hand book will superceed these rules, if these rules conflict with any of the existing rules or regulations of the brand/franchise.



I hereby accept and agree to abide by the above rules and regulations as an employee or contractor, and i am signing below with full consent irrevocabaly, unconditionaly and explicitly.
